All tools must be inspected prior to performing any pruning, to assure that all tools are properly working, lubricated at the joints, and of course that all blades are sharpened. The pruner must always wear proper tree safety equipment, such as safety glasses with side shields, hard hats, gloves, long sleeves, long pants, boots, and sunscreen, to ensure their own safety.
